Problem:
There's an old computer adage that says, "Garbage in, garbage out." From a systems development perspective, this relates to the importance of the information and knowledge gleaned during the analysis stage that ultimately is translated into the functionality of a system. Think about what would happen if misinformation, or erroneous or incomplete knowledge, were used to specify a system. How could these mistakes ultimately impact a company in terms of costs, efficiency, productivity, and competitive advantage?
