Overview: For your major project this semester, you will produce a multiple-platform story. This is a feature story in which you will interview at least three sources about what it means to be an Emirati.
Directions: Here's how the assignment will work. You will produce three different parts of the assignment: (1) Photographs related to the subject(s) of your story, preferably a portrait of each subject; (2) you need a sound byte of approximately 20 - 30 seconds of one of the persons talking about what it means to be an Emirati (you will record far more than 30 seconds, but you will ultimately pick the BEST sound byte); and (3) you will write a 400-word feature story about what information you collect from your sources. You must interview a minimum of threepeople for the story.
Equipment: (1) Digital camera; (2) digital tape recorder (3) notepad and pens.
Sources: You must interview at least three people who are Emirati. Please diversify by age, gender and socioeconomic status.
Programs: Text (Microsoft Word): audio (suggested, Soundtrack Pro); and photography (Photoshop).
