Task to the students:
The group shall have to choose any organisation in Oman in which that organization has a Procurement or Supply Chain Department. The group shall have to identify the purchasing strategies within the organization, policy manual, purchasing structure within the organisation procurement. The data should be collected directly from the organization, Data collections from websites/internet can be used as an additional source.
Please note that, the choice of an organization should be approved by the Instructor In advance.

PART 1: Group Proposal Report
The students should have to draft group proposal report. The proposal has to be uploaded in the Moodle on a required date and time. The selected organization has to be approved the instructor. The report should consider the background about the company, the group plan of action to complete the assessment and Timeline and work breakdown (Gantt Chart).
PART 2: Group Report
You have to collect the details from the chosen organization and answer the following questions.
1) Brief company profile: Operations. Products & Services. Location etc..
2) Purchasing Profile and analysis using purchasing portfolio matrix. Identify the type of items procured by the organization and construct the purchase portfolio matrix diagram.
3) Critically analyse the purchasing strategies for the organization for critical and bottle neck items, and Identify the problems if any in the current procurement mechanism.
4) If e-procurement is adopted what are the benefits that the selected company is enjoying. If they have not adopted then, how will it benefit the organization?
Group report should disclose consolidated results of group work on the task:
1. For the assignment students are expected to refer to secondary data and literature sources as well as primary data.
2. Total words count should not exceed 2000
