Problem related to the family violence

Problem:

George is a 27-year-old male who was ordered by court to undergo assessment and treatment. George was arrested four months ago for family violence and is currently in the adult probation program. According to police, George's wife called the police after a heated argument escalated to George damaging a number of household items. George's wife reported feeling threatened and feared that George would harm her.

During the initial intake, George reported that this was his first time ever being arrested and has never assaulted his wife before this occasion. George is still with his wife and says that they are trying to work on their relationship. George said that he has been feeling really angry and sad the past couple of months because of a medical condition that has put his life on hold. George reported that he was training to become a police officer, but was unable to continue the training process because he failed the physical examination. George's doctor discovered that his kidneys were in very poor condition and only 6% of his kidneys were working. George is currently on dialysis four times a day and administers it himself at his home.

George reports feeling frustrated with his medical condition because of the stress it puts on his family. In the past, George's family members would go to him when they had problems or needed help. However, the role has changed and George is not used to being the one in need. George has a number of conflicts with some family members, but none have resulted to violence. Although there are conflicts with family members, George reports that he does have many people trying to help him out. George occasionally feels sad and down, but reports always trying to think of positive things. George says that he cannot find a regular job with his condition and will be receiving social security soon. George reports either wanting to use the social security money for school to graduate in a field where he is able to work or to invest it in building a house for his family.

Although George is not currently employed, he was able to keep jobs and reports having no problems with employers or co-workers. George has graduated from high school and has meaningful connections with a number of relatives and friends. George is highly interested in building, maintaining, and repairing off-road vehicles and is active in a number of off-roading clubs.

George has never seen a counselor or psychiatrist before. He has no history of suicide attempts or ideations. George reports not using alcohol or illegal substances. When asked what culture he identifies the most with, George reports the Chamoru culture. George reports no trouble or issues concerning his culture. Need Assignment Help?
