Problem:
I am not yet a nurse. I am currently in the CEP program taking nursing courses at both CR and Cal Poly Humbolt, working on my ADN and BSN at the same time. There are a few other students in this course pursing the same academic goals as I am. Since I am not a nurse yet, what I want to glean from this course are the technological knowledge and skills that will help me improve my practice once I do become a nurse. I understand that nursing encompasses a wide range of concepts such as evidence-based practice, holistic and person-centered care, medical technology, etc. So, I would like to be able to understand how all these concepts can be efficiently integrated with one another to better expand my nursing practice. These concepts are what I understand as part of nursing science. Nursing science also includes research and development, innovative interventions, advocacy, and interprofessional collaboration with the goal of improving patient health outcomes.
