Monica is an electrician and electrical equipment inspector, and has been working in this role for a brief period of time. On any given day of the week, when Monica's duties include reading electricity meters, performing maintenance and inspection on electrical panels for private households and small- to medium-scale organisations. On a recent work assignment to an IT office in Claremont, Monica was injured when checking the wiring in the electrical panel. One of the cables had become worn over time, exposing the inside wiring. Not having seen this yet, Monica accidentally came into contact with the live wire, suffering an electric shock. She needed immediate medical attention to treat the burns she sustained on her right forearm and has now been given time off from work to heal and recuperate.
