A strong connection between NAEH's mission and the importance of tracking success with people moving into long-term housing stability. Tracking the policy's success is the most important outcome to follow, as it is more important to know that people are reaching a safer and more sustainable situation. Poister et al. (2015) explain that performance measurement should help organizations use outcome data to improve decision-making, resource allocation, and results. That fits well here because homelessness programs need to know which services actually lead to stable housing, employment support, and reduced rates of return to homelessness. I also agree that innovation matters because organizations may need to adjust their services when data reveal gaps in outcomes (Morad et al., 2021). One question I would ask is: How does the National Alliance to End Homelessness (NAEH) track whether individuals or families remain housed six months or one year after receiving services?
