Problem related to clients emotional health and healing

Problem: The setting depicted in the video seems to be more of an office/work environment rather than a therapeutic space. Research shows that creating a "sacred space" or intentionally altering an environment to support clients' emotional health and healing, can actually cultivate more positive therapeutic outcomes (Callahan, 2008). For example, instead of having a chair that's planted to the floor, having mobile furniture allows clients to create their own physical distance depending on what feels most comfortable to them. It may also be helpful to add plants, a blanket, or softer furniture. These items subconsciously serve as a metaphor for growth, healing, and recovery. Making this change may help clients feel less intimated by sharing their experiences and talking about difficult emotions. Opening the windows would be another way to align the environment to support these goals, as natural sunlight has been shown to reduce feelings of stress, depression, and fatigue (Pegrum, 2003; Whately, 2005) . In terms of nonverbal communication and body language, at times throughout the video the interviewer was glancing downward and off to the side. In one instance, this happened right after the client disclosed that she hadn't worked in over 12 years. Combining the body language with the context of the conversation, her reaction seemed somewhat disappointed. There were also times where the interviewer's facial expressions ranged from serious to sad. Need Assignment Help?
