You are the Human Resource Manager for growing manufacturing company that employs approximately 250 people (this is a fictitious company). Lately there have been a number of employee complaints regarding inappropriate behavior in the workplace. These issues included "lewd" behavior towards female employee as well as discriminatory comments based on both age and race. The Company's Discrimination Policy is reviewed during the New Employee Orientation, however no further training on these topics is currently offered. The company does have a "workplace discrimination policy" that is published on their website. Given the recent issues, a decision was made to conduct annual training in an effort to prevent further issues in the workplace. You have been asked by the HR Director to lead this initiative to develop a presentation that will be used to train and educate the employees within your company on workplace discrimination and related legal concepts. The guidance given for these presentations follows:
- The presentation should contain the pertinent legal information and concepts related to "workplace discrimination" that employees need to be aware of.
- A comprehensive list of applicable employment laws should be included.
- The presentation should communicate the company's expectations of each employee pursuant to the topic.
- The presentation should be narrated (your voice as the audio) with your script provided in the "notes" section.
- There is no set length for this presentation, however you will need to determine which laws and related information are essential for your managers to be educated on.
It is recommended that you review the "Creating Presentations" information, located in the "Toolbox" tab. YouTube is highly recommended, as web-based applications are not as dependent on having compatible software to view them.
