Problem: Dengue fever is a mosquito-borne viral infection that is common mainly in tropical and subtropical regions. It is a communicable disease that still has a strong impact on global community health. It is transmitted by the bite of infected Aedes mosquitoes and generally presents with a high fever and severe body pains and in some cases can evolve into severe forms like dengue hemorrhagic fever. In recent years, there have been more outbreaks, partly due to climate change and rapid urbanisation, which provide better breeding conditions for mosquitoes (World Health Organization [WHO], 2024). As a result, infection rates have risen, especially in highly populated cities. Social determinants of health play an important role in how dengue spreads and develops. In many communities, limited access to reliable water sources leads people to store water in containers, which can easily become breeding sites. Overcrowded living conditions and gaps in public health services also make prevention harder. In addition, lower health literacy may limit how well people understand simple protective steps, such as removing standing water or using insect repellents (Brady et al., 2022). A Christian worldview may be expressed from a nursing perspective through caring for others with compassion and respect but still with an emphasis on prevention.
