Hello Class,

The study of psychology's history has greatly enriched my understanding of the various avenues used to analyzing the mind and human behavior. Starting with structuralism and functionalism and ending with the humanistic viewpoint, psychology's development indicates that not one single perspective can effectively showcase thoughts, emotions and feelings often portrayed to the community. Each philosophical inquiry from the Gestalt principles to cognitive psychology introduced new approaches to understanding a complex relationship, demonstrating that human etiquette needs to be explored accurately based on circumstances, interpretations, and impulses either created by the individual or environment (Schultz & Schultz, 2016). Such value strengths the idea that many ideas come together to positively and negatively effect modern day investigations particularly regarding a person's enlightenment and overall code of conduct connect within an every changing community.

Learning the evolution of psychology has also led me to my current research topic examining the connection between technology use and academic performance mostly in 2nd through 6th grade students through sharing how technology enhances or demolishes cognitive abilities. Moreover aspects such as attention and memory highlights the several ways technology is influencing education today (Means, 2022). Understanding cognitive and behavioral aspects not only bridges the gap between literature but also corresponds with psychology's original intent: to explain why humans respond to society in diverse ways.

Thank you,

Kaitlin Hatcher
