Problem regarding diagnosed with panic disorder

Problem: Howard was diagnosed with panic disorder and immediately placed on alprazolam (Xanax) at .5 mg/day. After two weeks, it was increased to 1 mg/day and remained at that dosage for several months. Howard's panic attacks decreased in frequency, but he appeared to be cognitively disoriented and his speech became slurred. Sertraline (Zoloft) was then administered on a daily basis, and alprazolam was slowly tapered off in increments of .25 mg/week. His attacks and other symptoms totally subsided as a result of this change in medication, and Howard attended weekly cognitive-behavioral therapy sessions where he learned to identify, label, and modify his thoughts as they related to his father and his expectations. He has successfully graduated college and is now employed at a law firm. Howard remains symptom free, and he continues to take sertraline while attending CBT sessions on a periodic basis. He is also actively involved in a support group for those with panic disorders. Need Assignment Help?
