Gabriella: The government needs to intervene when it comes to guns. There should be stricter gun safety laws. There have been too many instances of child death due to the lack of safety features.
Brianna: How are added safety features going to keep me and my family safe if now my firearm is no longer easily accessible? That is outrageous, just teach your kids guns are not a toy!
Jasmine: We can take a lesson from states like Massachusetts, Maryland, and California. These are the only states that have childproofing laws leading them to have the highest gun law strengths in our country. We need to keep our kids safe.
Brianna: Thank God guns are exempt from regulation by the Consumer Product Safety Commission. Making guns safer will do nothing, just raise smarter kids and this would not be an issue.
Gabriella: Statistics show that "In 2022, 209 children (age 0-17) have died by accidental gunshot wounds and an additional 519 were injured." This shows that if guns can be easily operated by children, they will continue to harm themselves.
