c) The producer of a television show: We have a problem: The program’s ratings are very low. We require learning how to get better our ratings.
d) A soft-drink manufacturer: the problem is that we don’t know if our bottlers are more satisfied with us than our competitor’s bottlers are with them.
e) A women’s magazine: Our problem is: to document the demographic charges which have occurred in recent decades in the lives of women and to put these modifications in historic perspective; to examine some generations of American women via most of this century, tracking their roles as student, worker, wife, and mother and noting the modifications in timing, sequence, and duration of these roles; to examine at what age and for how long a women enters each of the different stages of her life: school, work and marriage.
