When looking at the performance report I noticed that several weaknesses needed to be addressed. The first weakness I noticed was that the projected budget and the actual results of several different decisions were too far apart to be beneficial. This shows that understanding a variance of cost-based decisions is not understood, causing less efficient uses. The second weakness is that the indirect labor ended up being significantly higher than what was budgeted. Because of this, the indirect labor is costing the business more than what was expected and is an overall loss for the company. While the third weakness is that the administrative expenses are extremely high and although some are balancing out because of some of the under budget sections like direct materials and direct labor it's still proving to be less profitable for the business. These discrepancies and weaknesses have caused the effectiveness of the performance report to be lessened. The performance report can help the business, but it needs to be thoroughly checked beforehand.
