Problem based on second law of thermodynamics

Problem: The second law of thermodynamics states that as energy is transferred or transformed, more and more of it is wasted. The heat death of the universe is a hypothesized theory that the fate of the universe will evolve to a state of thermodynamic free energy and will no longer sustain the processes that increase entropy. This is a very interesting topic to me, because I always wondered what something like that would be like. While researching this I was wondering would this be something that is a gradual event that would happen over time knocking the planet into another ice age or would it be something that happens all of sudden at once. This is definitely one of those things that I know I may never see in my lifetime, nor do I think it will happen. I personally wouldn't like to experience the effects of something like this happening. When it comes to things like this I tend to watch videos or read things and it make my mind wonder on many different possibilities of how things would actually play out."
