Respiratory dysfunction or respiratory insufficiency that are very common is COPD and asthma. Asthma is chronic respiratory diseases that affect the airways and other structures of the lungs. Causes of asthma varies from tobacco smoke, or second hand smoker, other risk factors include but are not limited to air pollution, occupational chemicals and dusts, and frequent lower respiratory infections during childhood. Chronic respiratory diseases are not curable but there are several forms of treatment that help open the air passages and improve shortness of breath and can increase control of the symptoms and allowing patient to live normally ( WHO, 2024).

To prevent or to handle control of health due to asthma it is important to understand your disease, identify the triggers to better avoid them, take appropriate medication, exercise, have a plan in hand for unexpected attacks. Also, keep ventilation at home clean, known when to seek medical attention. Keep a active yet healthy lifestyle due to the condition, this includes healthy weight, and avoid extreme activities that can exacerbate asthmatic symptoms (Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America,n.d). Some asthma symptoms may go away after adolescence, but it is important to educate patients about recognizing symptoms or worsening and what may trigger their condition to balance a healthy life.
