Problem: The lack of relationship between Gc and life-satisfaction may be due to the dispersion of age being skewed towards the lower range of the sample. As well as within individuals, variability of Gc between individuals is evidenced as increasing with age (Laplume et al., 2022). Therefore, a younger cohort will not show variance in individual differences of Gc equal to the middle aged or older adult cohorts referenced in this report (Enkvist et al., 2013; Siedlecki et al., 2008). Low variability of Gc in the study sample may explain the lack of relationship to life-satisfaction.
