Problem: Comment and respond: "During my field placement at Youth Villages, I engaged in Competency 3: Engage Anti-Racism, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (ADEI) in Practice while supervising a clinician who was working with a family from a cultural background different from her own. The family had become increasingly disengaged from services, frequently canceling appointments and expressing frustration that previous providers had not understood their experiences or values. During supervision, we explored how cultural differences, family beliefs, and previous interactions with service systems may have impacted the family's trust and willingness to participate in treatment.
