This study is a work in progress. The feedback from peers and instructors helps bring up ideas that would not come to mind. My problem, space, and topic in mind feel like it might change. I need to make sure I stay focused on the qualitative side. When it comes to the research questions, I keep coming up with quantitative ones instead of qualitative ones. For a phenomenological design, I would have to focus on parents or caregivers of preschoolers who are the age of 2-4 (Selak et al., 2025). A potential sample size would be 6 to 10 participants to follow the standards to ensure to focus on the depth of each individual's lived experience (Smith & Osborn, 2015). One way to collect data for this proposed study is by conducting open-ended interviews of the parents or caregivers of the preschoolers (Creswell & Poth, 2018). The sample size being small might show that the findings are not representative of the general population. Preschoolers are a vulnerable population and have limited autonomy (Creswell & Poth, 2018).
