Prepare an expatriate compensation package

For this weeks discussion topic, assume you have selected the "right" candidate and you have offered, and has been accepted with a US base salary of $150,000 annualized. Your task is to design a compensation package for this new employee. What elements will need to be considered, how will he be paid (from home country or host country), when will he be paid, and what other items to be included in the compensation package including tax issues. The expatriates base compensation will be your starting point. The expat will be on a "Single status" assignment, may live in local community, or expat compound. You will also need to determine which compensation approach you will use, "Going Rate" or "Balance Sheet.

Research the components that would be required and prepare an "expatriate" compensation package as noted above. Prepare a breakdown of your compensation program for the expatriate. Include all elements you are proposing. Include your rationale for your particular compensation package design.
