Flower design
The general manager of the flower design company asked you to develop a production plan for your new line of perfume. You must calculate the total cost of that plan. The following is the data you need to develop the plan:
Spring -11,000
Summer-7,000
Fall -9,000
Winter-10,000
• Winter at the beginning of spring is 6,000 units
• At the beginning of spring there are 25 employees
• It is expected to hire temporary employees early fall and dismiss them at the end of autumn
• The spring and fall seasons are a lot of work, so management allows overtime to be applied only if necessary in order to avoid stock outs. Overtime is not allowed in summer or winter.
• According to staff, equipment and facilities, among other elements, it was determined that 0.25 units per hour of work could be produced, with eight hours per day and 60 days per season.
Recruitment- $ 125 per employee
Dismissal- $ 180 per employee
Inventory- $ 3 per unit / season
Backorder $ 8 per unit
Straight time $ 8.10 per hour
