Based on the podcasts and your readings this week, Prepare a 400-500 word response below, in which you discuss and describe the reasons you believe that some police encounters with mentally ill people end poorly. While composing your response, consider how police training in working with persons with mental illness is positive not only for the mentally ill community member but for the public and the officers as well. Please address some of the specific techniques officers learn through their training and how and why they are effective.
