Pre-hospital administration of oxygen for chest pain patient

In Pre-hospital Administration of Oxygen for Chest Pain Patients:

Description:

An annotated bibliography is a bibliography that gives a summary of each of the entries. The purpose of annotations is to provide the reader with a summary and an evaluation of the source. Each summary should be a concise exposition of the source’s central idea(s) and give the reader a general idea of the source’s content. The student may write on relevant topics to EMS or healthcare, as approved by the instructor. Students may NOT change topics so choose wisely. The annotated bibliography will consist of sources to be used in the research paper. Ten (10) sources will be submitted for grading. Sources include peer-reviewed journal sources, textbooks, & websites. All sources cannot be older than 5 years (Jan. 2010 to Dec. 2014 The sources are to be written in APA reference style as outlined in the APA Publication Manual, 6th edition i will order latter a order for starting the research.

The decrease in Pre-hospital Administration of Oxygen for Chest Pain Patients

The researcher will investigate the reasons for the decline in Pre-hospital Administration of Oxygen for Chest Pain Patients

Does the implementation of the 2010 AHA guidelines affect the decline

A research prospectus is a preliminary plan for conducting a study. This is not a detailed, technical research proposal, but, rather, a considered analysis of the issues you are likely to confront in such a study. In essence, it is a preliminary proposal. It must be 5 pages, not including title page and reference (do not include the annotated bibliography). The prospectus is to be written in 12-point font Times New Roman and double-spaced; all pages, from title to reference must be written with these parameters. Headers will be required for title page and body. The paper will also be written with a minimum of eight (8) sources. The entire document is to be written in APA style. The prospectus must include the following sections:

• Problem Statement (1 to 2) paragraphs: (a) A logical argument for the need to address an identified gap in practice at a local setting. (b) Preliminary evidence that provides justification that this problem is meaningful to both the local setting as well as to the education profession and discipline. (c) Provide three to five key citations that highlight the relevance and currency of the problem. (d) The overall purpose or intention of the study:

o In quantitative studies, state what needs be studied by describing two or more factors (variables) and a conjectured relationship among them related to the identified gap in practice or problem.

o In qualitative studies, describe the need for increased understanding about the issue to be studied, based on the identified gap or problem

o In mixed-methods studies, with both quantitative and qualitative aspects, clarify how the two approaches will be used together to inform the study.

• Significance (1 to 2 paragraphs): Provide one to two paragraphs, informed by the topic in the problem statement, which describe(s):

o How will this study contribute to filling the gap in practice identified in the problem statement?

o How will this research support professional education practice at the local site? Who benefits from your findings/project deliverable and how?

• Background Literature (1 paragraph): Provide a representative list of scholarship and findings that support the main assertions in the problem statement, highlighting their relationship to the topic (e.g., “This variable was studied with a similar sample of 5th graders by Brown (20XX) and Jones (20XX),” or “Scott’s (20XX) examination of campus leaders showed similar trends …”). A maximum of five sources should be cited in this section, using APA in-text citations.

• Research Question(s): List the question or a series of related questions that are informed by the study purpose, which will lead to the development of what needs to be done in this study and how it will be accomplished.

• Research Methodology & Design (1-2 paragraphs): Provide a concise paragraph that discusses the approach that will be used to address the research question(s) and how this approach aligns with the problem statement and potential project genre. The subheadings and examples of study designs are:

o Quantitative—such as quasi-experimental (e.g., repeated measures or causal-comparative studies) or nonexperimental (e.g., correlational or predictive studies) designs.

o Qualitative—such as case study, narrative analysis, historical or document analysis, phenomenological study, ethnography, and grounded theory.

• Possible Types and Sources of Information or Data (1 to 2 paragraphs): Provide a list of possible types and sources of information or data for this study, such as test scores from college students, employee surveys, observations of children, interviews with practitioners, historical documents from state records, de-identified school records, or information from a federal database.

Dictionary:

A collegiate dictionary is recommended for spelling and word usage reference during writing assignments. There will be no excuse accepted for misspelling on writing assignments.

Penalty for Late Work on Annotated Bibliography, Prospectus Rough Draft, & Prospectus Final Draft

Any scheduled assignment that is submitted upon the date that it is acknowledged as “due” will be subject to an automatic 10-point reduction for each late day.

Forums, essays, rough drafts, and final drafts of research paper require adequate time for grading, hence the reason for the stiff penalty.  Accidents happen so the student is encouraged to save work in as many ways as possible.

Statement Regarding Changes In-Course Requirements:

Since all classes do not progress at the same rate, the instructor may wish to modify the above requirements or their timing as circumstances dictate. For example, the instructor may wish to change the number and sequence of assignments. However, the students must be given adequate notification. If such modification is needed, it must be in writing and conform to the spirit of this policy statement.
