-Active threaded
-Passive
-Custom casted
Cement used :
-Traditional cement
-bonded with a composite resin
-Dentin-bonding agent
-Propost use acid-etched metal posts that are bonded into the canal
- heat generation with ultrasonic vibration may help to decrease retention of resin –cemented posts,
- But concern for heat-generated periodontal ligament damage.
Removal of casted post
-Cut encircling metal collar using a small round bur
-Drill a channel around the post
-Cur rest seat into core to support ultrasonic tip
Removal of screw post
-Walk ultrasonic tip CCW direction to unscrew post
-Hand wrench unscrew and remove the loose post
-Removal of cemented post
-walk ultrasonic around the post to destruct and damage the bond of cement between post and tooth structure .
-Part of the post should embedded inside the canal and the other part should appear occlussaly
-If the coronal part appeared, it's easy to remove.
