Possible population proportion

A recent political poll for a local election indicated that 70% of the 250 voters sampled preferred Candidate A. Candidate B is surprised by this survey because he thought that the race was a dead heat, that is 50% preferred A and 50% preferred B. Based on this poll is 50% a possible population proportion of those preferring candidate A? Compute the 95% confidence interval and explain why you think 50% is still likely or why it is not likely.
