Possible discrimination claims

Assignment:

Question 1.  Yet another issue is that private prisons would be able to pick and choose inmates, then taking the "best of the worst" and leaving the others in state run prisons, thus making the conditions of the state prisons even worse." Another issue here is possible discrimination claims. How might those arise?

Question 2. "The prisoner must satisfy the terms and conditions of commonly referred to as 'Condition of parole". Many people think that parole should be supervised to the fullest to discourage criminals from committing the same crimes. A while ago, I read an article about the use of a parole phone check-in system for parolees. What do you think about this possible idea? What are the pros and cons? Does this system save on costs? How might the system be abused? Do you think that this system is supervising parole "to the fullest?"

Question 3. Jail authorities are responsible for making sure offenders are properly classified and placed in correct housing locations." If someone is injured in a prison or jail violence outbreak, who do you think should be legally liable (if anyone)? Why?

Question 4. A lot of people complain about parole because they feel it gives the offender a free pass, that it is unfair to the victims of crimes. How would you counter that argument? Also, what are some things a parole board considers? Would you suggest they consider anything else?
