Offenders differ in their rehabilitation needs as well as an understanding of how to achieve them. This being the case, different theories of offender rehabilitation apply to the offenders. Although there are several different theoretical models for rehabilitation in probation and parole, there are three basic theories to address offender rehabilitation: the Psychoanalytic theory, the Reality therapy, and the Behavior or Learning theory.
In a minimum of 300 words answer the following:
- Considering all the theoretical models of the rehabilitation role covered , which model best explains the relationship between human behavior, crime, and rehabilitation? Explain your reasoning.
- Which model do you find the least compelling? Why?
