Oxford Health Care, a long term health care facility, is experiencing challenges with recruiting and retaining nurses. Responses from nurses on employee surveys and exit interviews have indicated that pay is one of the factors, ranking number 3 in concerns.
The organization would like to increase the salary level of the nurses, but does not have the budget to do this. The nurses' top two concerns are the stress level of the job and the number of hours worked each week.
Most of the nurses have been asked to work additional hours over their regular schedule because of the number of vacant nursing positions.
