Policy and practice in educational settings


Critically analyse the literature in relation to a specific mental health difficulty and evaluate how policy and practice in educational settings aim to promote resilience and support children and young people who are at risk of developing mental health difficulties.

1) Define good mental health in children and young people within a given context.

2) Discuss critically a range of problems children and young people may face which are outside the normal range for their age and gender and which could be described as mental health difficulties.

3) Discuss critically the causes and risk factors which may contribute to the emergence of mental health.

4) Demonstrate how it may be possible to build self-confidence and resilience as part of a range of intervention strategies which may be adapted and adopted to support children/ young people troubled with difficulties which may affect their mental health.
