Plato as you remember argued that we are a soul and that we

Plato, as you remember, argued that we are a soul, and that we as a soul survive the death of our bodies. Then, the soul exists by itself, happily, without having the annoyance of a body. Another dualist possibility is that the soul just kind of floats into a new body (maybe the new body won't be as distracting as the old one!). Is this the only way immortality would be possible? What are the other possibilities?
