"Planning for tax: What is the motivation when choosing a business form?" The choice of business form (i.e. sole trader, partnership, trust or corporation) is an incredibly important decision but what is the motivation behind the choice, and later satisfaction? In an academic paper:
Outline to what extent different business forms are used in Australia (indicate any preferences in industry sector, regional location or time period)
Describe and critique research that has considered the underlying factors/motivations by advisors and/or business entrepreneurs with the choice of form.
Provide insight as to whether choice of business form is all about tax planning and what relationship this has (if any) with later commercial satisfaction with the initial choice.
