Reflection - Ten Years From Today - Your Financial Life BFIN 210 · Personal Financial Management · Summer Session I 2026   A reflection is not a discussion post. Reflections in this course are extended, first-person, single-author pieces - 500-700 words - in which you take a specific position, anchor it in course concepts, and own the trade-offs. The rubric rewards your voice, your reasoning, and your calibrated honesty more than it rewards correctness against a single answer key.

What to include in your reflection

Required elements:

Picture a specific ten-years-out financial life. Income range, debt status, savings rate, asset mix. Generic answers score lower than ones with attempted numbers.

Commit to three specific steps in the next 12 months. Each step needs a dollar amount, a date, and a mechanism (automation, transfer, account opening).

Cite at least three concepts  from Modules 5-8 by name (e.g., APR, total finance charge, employer  401(k) match, Roth asymmetric advantage, Bengen 4% rule, Modigliani's  life-cycle hypothesis, four estate-planning documents).

Anchor at least one step to a Sim 3 or Sim 4 lesson. What did you observe about credit decisions or retirement planning that changed your plan?

State the implementation friction. What is the most likely reason this plan fails, and what is your contingency?
