Physical properties of Formic Acid
(a) Formic Acid is a pungent smelling and colourless liquid.
(b) Formic Acid melts at 8.4°C and boils at 100.5°C.
(c) Formic Acid is miscible along with water, alcohol and ether. It forms azeotropic mixture with water.
(d) Formic Acid is strongly corrosive and cause blisters on skin.
(e) Formic Acid exists in aqueous solution as a dimer involving hydrogen bonding.
