1. A1 Consider a specimen that is 12 in. long * 1.50 in. wide that is cut from a sheet of 0.0625 in. thick 17-7PH stainless steel in the TH1050 aging condition. Properties for this material are described in Section MH2.6.10. The load is applied in the 12 in. direction, this corresponds to the L direction for the sheet.

(a) PH in the material designation means "precipitation hardened." Review the information on page MH2-213 and state the heat treatment steps for the material to be in the TH1050 condition.

(b) What is the tensile load (in lb) required for the specimen to reach the B basis yield stress?

(c) What is the length of the specimen under the load in part (b)?
