Assignment:
Reflecting on the content of the course, students will compose a 4 page position paper to elaborate on their perspective and usefulness of the research, theories or practices related to race, equity and pedagogy with the urban context. Students will ground their ideas with direct alignment to the content of the course, thus far. Use the information below to guide your writing.
Introduction: (Support ideas with content from the reading)
• Provide a clear and concise introduction that states your position on research, theory, and/or practice.
• Briefly share research, theorists, and strategies that support your position.
• Develop a comprehensive introduction that presents the existing ideas, strategies, problems, or concepts.
• Clearly but briefly articulate your position on the value of course content in helping to resolve the/these problem(s).
Review of Content: (Refer to Textbooks)
• Revisit assigned readings to review main concepts, supporting details, conflicting information, and missing details.
• Describe common solutions, processes, suggestions, ideas, and/or strategies woven throughout to readings.
Professional Position: (Support ideas with content from the reading)
• Demonstrate your understanding of the research, theory or use of strategy with articulating your professional position on the value and usability of what you learned in the course, thus far, as it relates to teaching minority/urban students.
• Discuss implications for the use of this content in teaching and learning, in general and within the context of culture with regard the problem(s) that you identified in the introduction. (How effective would it be for other teachers or teachers in training to know this information?)

The weaknesses within the research, theory or strategy
Conclusion:
• Develop a conclusion that includes your closing thoughts and ideas on the research, theories, and practices.
• Summarize and conclude your argument, including the problem stated in the introduction.
• Revisit the problem and articulate your final thoughts.
