You are to research six key and emerging technologies and systems used in the global logistics and supply chain (SC) industry, and critically evaluate them in terms of their relative strengths and application with regard to their impact on supply chain performance measurement and cost reduction.
Notes : You are to develop a systematic means of rating on the set criteria in order to critically evaluate the key and emerging technologies and systems. The rating system needs to rate strength in terms of impact on two things, being SC performance measurement and cost reduction. ‘Applicability' here concerns itself with the scale of the SC operation, e.g. the size, complexity, and resource of the business and its supply chain. You will, therefore, need to establish a rating system to suit applicability as well.
The total submission should comprise 1000 words (+/-10%, not including appendices, citations and references). You must cite and reference any models, frameworks, concepts, and terminology that you have encountered in the course material, in your textbook, or sourced elsewhere. Any assumptions you make are to be stated as such and you are to explain why you consider them to be realistic assumptions.
APA referencing guidelines are to be followed, and evidence of wide reading is expected for an assignment at this level, i.e. a minimum of five authoritative sources to be acceptable, including the textbook.
