Ivy Wallace is a resident at Pearl Valley Nursing Home; she has recently been diagnosed with cerebral metastases and has been transferred from Hostel accommodation to the nursing home. Ms Wallace is very frail and weak and weighs 49kgs. Ms Wallace can become quite agitated and confused now, particularly on the weekend. On Sunday morning when agency staff, Sarah, tried to shower Ivy she started screaming insults and swearing at Sarah. As soon as Sarah realised how agitated Ivy was getting and that her aggression had reached a Crisis Phase, she immediately and calmly acknowledged Ivy's agitation, put her straight back to bed, listened to Ivy while she settled her down and waited for her to recover. When Sarah was sure that Ivy was calm and safe she removed herself from the situation.
