Part: Recommended (Non-query) Optimisations
This section entitled "Recommended (non-query) optimisations" should be a brief report containing recommended optimisations you would recommend if you had total control of the database implementation. Web references will be permitted for this section, but must be presented using the Harvard System.
Provide recommendations to areas like...
- Operating System
- Recommended processor
- Recommended network connection
- Recommended DBMS Parameter settings (i.e. buffer-size, cache-size etc.)
- Use of RAID technology
Marks will be awarded for the use of references to reputable sources of information to support your proposals.
Helpfulness
If you post your Part 2 to Moodle, before your actual submission and somebody spots an improvement or slight error in your work that person will get a 5 mark bonus for helping. (A maximum of 2 bonus's will be awarded, but you don't have to stop being helpful).
