Parabolic copper fins that are 2 mm thick at the base and

Parabolic copper fins that are 2 mm thick at the base and 15 mm long are installed on the outside of a 5 mm thick AISI 304 wall. The fins are placed 4 mm apart on-center. The fins are exposed to a fluid 600 C and with a heat transfer coefficient of 300 W m-2 C-1. The other side of the wall is exposed to boiling water at 100 C with a heat transfer coefficient of 500 W/m2K. The contact conductance between the wall and fins is 2 x 104 W/m2K.

a) Draw the thermal resistance circuit for this problem

b) Calculate the fin efficiency and fin resistance

c) Calculate the rate of heat transfer per unit area of wall
