Owner's equity is the stockholders, shareholders or corporate capital that is earned through every day business activities of a corporation. The complexity of the organization's cost structure and ability to raise capital is important to investors on all levels. Investors need to analyze a company's capital investments and to see that the company has the ability to generate capital and separate the capital equity accounts that must be maintained and disclosed.
