Assignment task:

The business media and peer reviewed academic publications regularly cover human resource management news, events, and topics.  Managers keep in touch with the developments and happenings in the field through national publications, such as the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, and USA Today.  SHRM, the HR professional organization, also sends newsletters to its members that cover the developments in the field. This assignment has been created to keep you in touch with news, events and developments, and published work in HRM.  The intent is to get you interested in scanning the media, evaluating the effects of current events on business operations, and staying current in your profession.

Assignment Guidelines:

Using national print media (WSJ, NYT, USA Today, etc.), or library resources (ABI-Inform, Business Source premier) find a human resources management article that is related to the topics or subject matter being covered that week in the course. You must be able to post a link to the item for your peers. Then, prepare a professional memo on the item that would be appropriate to present to colleagues, subordinates, or superiors.  Articles should be no older than 12 months.   This week's lesson provides an overview of the entire HRM course, so please feel free to use any published article relating to HRM.  Future assignments will be more detailed.
