Overview of Interview Assessments

Knowing a person's hobbies and basic interests helps the employer obtain a better view of the potential employee. It can show if the person uses his or her time wisely. It can also show if the person is organized. These are traits that an employer is looking for. Your post reminded me about the media and how they are always talking about employers checking employees' social networking sites. I am quite indifferent about this situation. It is one thing to ask about one's hobbies and interests, it's another to be snooping into their profiles. I can understand why they may investigate. Employers want to make sure that who they hire is a responsible person. The again, what one does on their own time is nobody business but their own. What do you think about this topic? Do employers have the right to investigate into one's social networking profiles?
