We could write about famous quotes from an historical figure such as Churchill, Lincoln, or Gandhi, or write about familiar sayings that date back to the Bible or to Shakespeare's plays. Alternatively, we could write about expressions that our used within the computer industry (jargon) or in a skill such as cooking or farming. Ideally a good essay will have some structure and some way to limit the scope of the topic.
