Evaluating the Use of Charts and Graphs
Each student must find 2 examples of graphs or charts in newspaper or magazine articles that are in print or on the Web, and respond to the following:
1. Describe the type of graph or chart that is used based on the list of graphics in Figure 10-1 in the textbook.
2. Evaluate the effectiveness of the graphics based on the information in the textbook concerning the guidelines for preparing effective charts and graphs; explain whether the graphic appeared immediately after its introduction as explained in the textbook section, "Positioning of Graphics in Text."
3. Please include the chart or graph in your posting if possible.
No two students can evaluate the same chart or graph (preview other postings to make sure that you are not evaluating the same chart or graph).
Students must rate at least three other student postings from 1 to 5 starts (5 being the best). Students are also encouraged to reply or make comments to other student postings in the class
