1- You are the patrol commander in a high crime district of a major city and ordered by the chief of patrol to reduce crime through âactionable intelligenceâ. Explain what actionable intelligence is, and how will you apply it to meet the chiefs expectations.
2- Describe what problems the lack of an effective operational security program would have in a law enforcement narcotics strike force unit. Organize a list of potential problems and counter those with operational security measures.
3- Other than the attacks of September 11, 2001, identify and explain one law enforcement event where intelligence information sharing has resulted in a successful joint operation leading to an arrest, or a failed operation leading to a negative image of law enforcement.
4- What ethical or constitutional dilemmas if any can be anticipated by law enforcement intelligence units when using open source information?
Questions should be answered using academic resources available in the course and acceptable open source materials. APA 6th edition format and styles are expected to be used. Essay should be checked for spelling and grammar errors prior to submission. Answers are to be between 500 and 1000 words.
