Classroom environment and assignments

The types of learning activities selected for this course require student interaction with the instructor and with each other; consequently, students must be prepared to contribute towards the creation of a productive learning environment. Students are expected to engage in the group presentations and actively debate the issues raised, sharing their own personal insights, knowledge and experiences and always being respectful of the other students and their opinions.

1. Group Project 1

The first assignment is related to Design Thinking Framework (source: 2016 creativitywork.com), each group has to present a new idea in terms of creativity and implementation.

The assignment should include the following items:

- Discovery: Choose an affirmative, strategic topic. Gather data, Understand and empathize with unmet needs.

- (Re) frame opportunity: look for patterns and insights. Question assumptions. Frame your point of view. Define your Scope.

- Incubate: Switch gears. Feed your brain with diverse stimuli. Meditate. Sleep on it.

- Ideate: Experiment. Explore possibilities. Envision a desired future. Co-create in diverse. Make your ideas visible.

- Evaluate/Refine ideas: What is desirable, feasible, and viable about your ideas? What are the constraints?

- Rapid Prototype/Test: Think big, act small, fail fast; learn from end-users and refine.

- Deliver: final testing, approval and innovate.

- Iterate and scale: Evaluate. Learn. Create. Innovate.

2. Group Project # 2:

Opportunity Analysis and Business Plan 

The plan should have the following elements:
- Executive Summary
- Products and Services
- Market Analysis Summary
   - Market Needs (Customer Opportunities based on customer wants and needs)
   - Market Segmentation
   - Competitors
- Management Summary
- Financial Plan
- Appendix
