In addition , just because a right is afforded doesn't mean it fixes a problem . You are entitled an interpreter if you are in need of one during court proceeding but as stated in this CBC article , " discussions with defence lawyers and probation officers about issues such as bail conditions all take place in what is the second or third language of many defendants. "( MacKinnon ) That means that even if they understand the conditions once they are in court . they are going in effectively blind as they are not afforded a translator prior to court proceedings .
