One of my favorite bands in the 60s was Junior Walker and The Allstars. (Nobody could play sax quite like Junior!) His signature song was “What Does It Take To Win Your Love?[1969]”

I can’t recall having Junior in my Management classes back in the 60s, but if I did, I’m sure he got an A+. If you have read Chester Barnard, you realize how important a question this is for all managers. It obviously takes more than money. During the previous business eras, many managers never even asked the question. But Walker and Barnard did. Both were way ahead of their time. In the Relationship Era, they raise an important question for managers.

Weave Williams and Barnard together with respect to this topic.

Can you cite specific examples of people whose bosses just don’t get it? Or examples where they do?

If you were a manager, answer Junior’s question.
