Offset the line to create the internal support structure


Draw the front view of the tube bundle support shown in Fig. 18-15. Proceed as follows:

• Draw the outside circle and one of the holes.

• Offset both circles to create the width of the material.

• Draw a line connecting the center of the outside circle and the center of the hole.

• Offset the line to create the internal support structure that connects the hole with the center of the support.

• Draw another line from the center of the large circle at an angle of 30° to the first line.

• Use TRIM to create half of one cavity.

• Use MIRROR to create the other half of the cavity.

• Fillet the three corners.

• Use ARRAY to insert five more copies of the hole and cavity.

When you have completed the drawing, use the SCALE command to shrink it by a factor of .25 using the obvious base point. Save the drawing as tubebundle.dwg.
